Reuben is the director & owner of Salsa Latina studios, Christchurch. One of the largest Salsa schools in NZ. He has judged at the Salsa New Zealand Championships for 2005 2009 & 2010. Currently the New Zealand Salsa Champion for 2012 with Marcela. He has also trained many dancers in New Zealand & abroad who have had great success in their dancing also.
Reuben started dancing Cuban Miami Salsa & Brazilian Samba/Axé since 2000 and was trained as a performer & teacher for Street Latin until 2005. Since then, he has developed a unique personal style and has extensive teaching & performance experiences in various styles in Latin dance. His main focus since 2005 is On1 & On2 (NY & LA) linear Salsa, more recently favouring New York style Salsa which was inspired & learned from Oliver Pineda & more recently Edwin Rivera, Emily & Jr & David & Paulina from the USA & Mexico. As for DJing since 2003 has DJ'd every week till this day, over 10 years in clubs & Salsa parties and his love & critical understanding of latin music, coupled with his skills in music editing & creation and understanding of energy on dance floor & its dancers, has led him to become one of the most sought-after & successful Salsa DJ's in New Zealand.

Latin Dance Teaching & Professional Training:
Reuben was trained in teaching in 2003 from Street Latin (Cuban Style) and is also quailified from the 'Salsa Masters Teacher Training Programme' which he learnt directly from Oliver Pineda (world champion many times over) in 2005 with the full fundamental syllabus, which is still the basis for the current Syllabus at Salsa Latina today. Reuben has also had teacher training from Jamie Jesus & Lil Liz (LDA - Latin Dance Australia) & Edwin Rivera (NY-USA / Puero Rico). Plus has attened many professional & teaching seminars, one on one lessons with International Instructors, some are listed below in "training". Also certified from Mafie Zouker Masters Zouk training in 2010 for Traditional style Zouk. Reuben Has also implemented numerous dance systems from international teachers into the current system at Salsa Latina syllabus in fundamentals, shines & turn patterns.
